Getting your vehicle ready for shipping from North Carolina to Florida is straightforward and takes just a few steps.
Remove personal items and accessories. Take out anything loose inside your car—phone chargers, sunglasses, documents, and toll passes. Remove any exterior accessories like roof racks, spoilers, or antenna toppers that could get damaged or fall off during transit.
Clean your vehicle. Wash your car inside and out. This helps you spot any existing damage before pickup, which is important for the inspection process. Take photos of your vehicle's condition from multiple angles.
Check your fuel level. Your car should have a quarter tank of gas or less when the carrier arrives. This reduces weight and keeps things safe during transport.
Ensure the car runs. Make sure your vehicle starts and runs properly. Carriers need to be able to move the car on and off the trailer. If your car doesn't start, let your carrier know in advance.
Have your keys ready. Keep at least one working key available for the carrier on pickup day. Don't lock your keys inside the vehicle.
Check tire pressure and brakes. Properly inflated tires and working brakes help protect your car during loading and unloading.
